Meet Alex Phung, Physiotherapist
Education
Alex holds designations, including DPT, MScPT, BComm, BSc, CAFCI and GunnIMS. He has been practicing as a licensed physiotherapist since 2010 when he graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy, after obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting. He has since obtained his Doctorate in Physiotherapy from Northeastern University. He continues to pursue post-graduate education, as shown by his completion of the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (AFCI) Certificate of Anatomical Acupuncture, Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) certification, as well as pursuing his studies with Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy via the McKenzie Institute. He also has a special interest in treating clients with vestibular related concerns, most notably vertigo-like conditions.
Focused on Community Quality of Life
Alex has lived and grown up in north Edmonton for the vast majority of his life, and frequently spends time in the neighbourhood keeping busy with tennis, hockey and jogging. In addition to English, he is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. Alex has been with the Edmonton Pain & Injury Clinic since 2012, helping the community achieve better physical functioning and quality of life through therapeutic exercises, manual therapies, and client-empowering education.
